Eretz Israel / Land of Israel

Different names and boundaries trough time (note: bold when the land was inhabited)

Eretz Kena'an/Land of Canaan: the land of the Canaanite people promised to Avraham/Abraham by Ha-Shem/G-od to him and his descendants;

Eretz Yisrael/Land of Israel: conquered by Yehoshu'ah/Joshua after Yetsiath Mitsraim/Exodus from Egypt. It was administered by a tribal (ethnic) federation acording to the 12 Shevatim/Tribes;

Yisrael/Israel: the Jewish Kingdom in the North which was later conquered by Ashur/Assyria which deported its inhabitants and consequently desapeared;

Yehudah/Judah: the Jewish Kingdom in the South which was later conquered succesively by Bavel/Babylonia, Paras/Persia, Yavan/Greece and Edom/Rome which became a province or the Roman Empire;

Palestina: Roman province since they expelled all the Jews in 135 CE (no inhabitants)

Part of an Muslim province: since the land was conquered around 648 CE (few inhabitants);

Kingdom of Jerusalem: Crusaders rule (few inhabitants);

Part of the Vilayet of Syria and part of the Vilayet of Egypt: part of two Ottoman provinces (more jewish inhabitants since the Ottomans welcomed the Jews explelled from Spain in 1492. Later came small waves of orthodox Jews from Lituania, Poland and Hungary. In 1882 started massive waves of secular Jews inmigrating to Erets Yisrael/the Land of Israel. Arabs from the surrounding countries started also to come looking for jobs;

Palestine: in 1918 following WWI, where the Ottomans lost and the British won, the British promised a Homeland for the Jewish People in all Palestine. It was later approved by the Society of Nations in 1923 (Jewish and Arab inhabited);

State of Israel: an independent state recognized by the United Nations in 1948: all the Arabs refused the Partition Plan and waged the War of 1949 where Jordan conquered the Cisjordan and Egypt conquered the Gaza Strip.

Yesha'(Yehudah-Shomron-'Aza)/Dispuded Territorries: since 6 Day War in 1967 where the State of Israel was attacked by all sourrounding Arab States, the State of Israel military took control of the land illegally conquered by the Jordans and the Egypcians previously. In 2005 the Sate of Israel executed the Itnatkut/Disengagement Plan where all Jewish inhabitants and Israel military moved out of the Gaza Stip. The term Yesha' changed to Yesh: Yehudah and Shomeron.

Malkhuth Yisrael/Kingdom of Israel: in the near future the faithful Jews believe that there will be the Kingdom of Mashia'h ben David/Anointed son (descendant) of David any time before 2040. CE or 5800 in the Jewish calendar).
